Kiehl’s Superbly Restorative Body Line Launch

I absolutely love Kiehl’s Since 1851 and it was announced in WWD this morning that they’re launching a new anti-aging body care line – Superbly Restorative. According to WWD:

“This is our first totally restorative body care collection,” said Chris Salgardo, U.S. president of Kiehl’s, of the brand’s new Superbly Restorative body care lineup. It is set for an April launch. “Usually, we save the highest-tech ingredients for the face — but we felt strongly about launching a line which offered similar benefits for the body.”

The brand’s best-selling skin care product at present is Creme de Corps, a body lotion which focuses on hydration, explained Salgardo. “Superbly Restorative, which we will launch on Earth Day, gives restorative benefits, as well. It can be used in tandem with Creme de Corps, or on its own.”

The ingredient powering Superbly Restorative is organic argan oil, which Kiehl’s is sourcing from the Targanine Cooperative in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. While argan oil may be relatively new to skin care, it has a long history among the Berber population in Morocco, said Salgardo.”

The collection will include two products at launch: Superbly Restorative Body Lotion, and Superbly Restorative Dry Oil with a third product, Superbly Restorative Skin Salve, expected in June.

Acca Kappa Cedro Travel Shave Foam

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 at 10:01 am

shave-foam.jpg

It happens at least once per trip; the need to shave.

My scruff grows in very evenly, so I can get away with a two or three day beard. After about a week I start looking like a homeless person. Except for the designer clothes, accessories and clean hair, of course. Oh, let’s face it, I could never be mistaken for a transient, but you know what I mean.

Travel-approved sizes are the newest restriction in a post-911 world. Many people opt to leave their toiletries at home and buy what they need when they get to their destination or borrow it from the hotel. I don’t leave my beauty to chance. How do you know you’re going to find high quality stuff when you get there?

“TSA Approved Size. Rich and creamy foam, made with the extracts of jojoba oil and aloe.”

Cost: $9.5

Eucerin Calming Creme

I’m a product sample you know what.

I’m also one of those people who, when they get nervous or over-excited, breaks out into hives. With the addition of my generally glowing yet extremely pale completion, it makes for a really lovely combination. At my dermotologists office the other day, I noticed samples of Eucerin Calming Creme and helped myself.

When you say “free,” I say “I’ll take two.”

This thick, creamy white moisturizer contains oatmeal — a natual calming ingredient. Although not specifically a redness relief product, it cools, soothes and calms the skin. Perfect for those flush moments.

Cost: $20

Virtually A Touch Proof Liquid Foundation

Friday, March 21st, 2008 at 4:06 pm

face_lastingperf.jpg

Just to briefly recap my last post, Get Endless Kissable Lips, the segment “Human Lab” on the Rachael Ray Show tests beauty products to see if what they claim is true. So not only did the bride test L’Oreal’s Endless Kissable Lipstick Colour, the best friend tested Max Factor’s Lasting Performance Liquid Makeup. The brand claims to be virtually a touch proof liquid foundation that never leaves any smudge marks - even on a white napkin. So when it was put to the test at her best friend’s wedding where tears ran down her cheek, there was no tear stains and the foundation didn’t rub off onto the white napkin! She also hugged many men dressed in tuxedos and there was no trace of her face left behind!

The one complaint though about this product is that it’s said to feel heavy, like your wearing a mask. So the tip is not to put too much on and should really only wear it for special occasions, but if you want to wear it everyday, go right ahead!

Cost: $18.07

Purchase at Amazon.

Bare Escentuals has done it again. The Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy is a super-concentrated and effective acne treatment that is clinically proven to quickly and effectively clear and heal blemishes and pimples. It has a strong sulfur smell due to its concentration, but it can also be used as an overnight spot treatment if the smell is too strong for you during the day.

Cost: $28
