Smashbox O-Glow

Just yesterday I review the Smashbox O-Gloss so I figured I’d keep with the second item from the “O” series of “intuitive” makeup with Smashbox O-Glow. This one is supposed to give you that “flushed look” and I have to say, for me, it worked. I saw another girl trying it with an olive complexion and it looked great on her as well. The only problem I have with it, is it doesn’t last. I don’t mind reapplying my lip gloss, because it’s easy to do and I’m obsessive that way. However blush NEEDS to stay on all day, or at the very least 5 hours.

I tried it on at Sephora and by the time I had lunch and went home it was gone. Which meant it wore off in less than 3 hours. Not good. Not good at all. Considering your paying $26 dollars you’d want it to stand the test of time. For those of you that don’t mind reapplying every so often I think it’s a great blush, or flush. It goes on clear and it’s silky smooth, a bit like a frizz serum only not sticky. You just use your fingertips to rub it into your skin and wait a few seconds and the color should begin to show. I would say it’s pink and I think most of you would agree, but it doesn’t come across as bubble gum, but more like a flush color and unfortunately on one girl like someone slapped her.

It wasn’t for me, but it could be great for you. I think it’s worth a trip to your local Sephora to at least try it out.

Cost: $26.00

Benefit Cosmetics Sheer Cream Blusher

Benefit Sheer Cream Blusher comes in three different colors all of them with great names like, “Hush!”, “Shh!”, and “Ohh”. The packaging alone was enough to sell me, but tied in with the great names the girly part inside of me just had to buy it. The good news is it’s on par with Nars Creme Blush as being the best cream blush out there. It’s easy to apply since it comes in a small squeeze tube that DOES NOT push out too much product, but in fact takes some muscle to get a small amount. I then tap it into the tube to get it all mushy and warm and then rub it into my cheeks and viola a healthy natural flushed look.

I know $18 dollars seems like a lot for blush, but trust me it’s worth it. I’ve tried drugstore cream blushes and they do the job, but they don’t make you go “WOW!” and I was tired of settling so I went to Sephora, fell in love with the packaging and fell even harder in love with the color. FYI, if you know what color is best for you sometimes getting it on ebay can help save you a couple bucks.

Cost: $18.00

Nars Creme Blush

I spent hours at the Sephora in search of the perfect creme, mouse, and/or tint and I finally found it. Nars Creme Blush was by far the best looking, easiest to apply, and most natural blush there. Well I should say there was another one that I loved as well but that’s for a different review which will be coming soon.

Anyway back to the Nars blush. Many, many, many people love the powder and it’s in fact been given a ton of awards and is always sold out. Trust me! I tried two different colors which were the bestest most favoritist color and they were both sold out. I advise you to try them in the store and if they don’t have the color you love, buy it online. Applying the color was super simple, because it’s has a very nice creamy texture and you can move it around without fear of staining. I have dry skin and this blush was superb for it and actually made it glow. The color wasn’t sparkly, or too pink and it added a bit of bronze as well. It definitely made my cheekbones stand out. I personally think it was worth the money and you only use have to use a bit so it lasts quite awhile.

FYI: I have very pale skin and even though the colors look bright, or too brown they actually end up quite natural looking. The best color for me was Cactus Flower.

Cost: $24.00

Stila Perfectly Peach Eye & Cheek Palette

stila eye and cheek palette

This season it’s all about the cheeks. Walking down the runway during the fashion shows, the models were fresh faced with just a hint of rosy cheeks. The biggest color blush that we’ve seen used has definitely been peach!

So when I saw the Stila Perfectly Peach Eye & Cheek Palette I jumped on it. It comes with three eye shadow shades (for base, crease and liner) that are all very natural looking, and the perfect shade of peach blush to go with the eyes. I love when makeup comes together so I know what goes…makes it easy when they take the guess work out of everything!

Cost: $6.99

I was flipping through this issues Cosmopolitan magazine when I came across this helpful tip about making your lip gloss do double duty. They encouraged you to use a pearly white gloss as both your normal lip gloss and as a highlighter. One of my favorite lip glosses is by DiorKiss in “Sorbet Meringue” or “Pink Marshmallow“. You can apply it to your lips, right under your eyebrows, and a long your cheeks for some subtle definition. I tried the, “Pink Marshmallow” color and even though it’s a pink it was perfect for my fair skin adding just the right amount of sparkle.
