Smashbox O-Glow

Just yesterday I review the Smashbox O-Gloss so I figured I’d keep with the second item from the “O” series of “intuitive” makeup with Smashbox O-Glow. This one is supposed to give you that “flushed look” and I have to say, for me, it worked. I saw another girl trying it with an olive complexion and it looked great on her as well. The only problem I have with it, is it doesn’t last. I don’t mind reapplying my lip gloss, because it’s easy to do and I’m obsessive that way. However blush NEEDS to stay on all day, or at the very least 5 hours.

I tried it on at Sephora and by the time I had lunch and went home it was gone. Which meant it wore off in less than 3 hours. Not good. Not good at all. Considering your paying $26 dollars you’d want it to stand the test of time. For those of you that don’t mind reapplying every so often I think it’s a great blush, or flush. It goes on clear and it’s silky smooth, a bit like a frizz serum only not sticky. You just use your fingertips to rub it into your skin and wait a few seconds and the color should begin to show. I would say it’s pink and I think most of you would agree, but it doesn’t come across as bubble gum, but more like a flush color and unfortunately on one girl like someone slapped her.

It wasn’t for me, but it could be great for you. I think it’s worth a trip to your local Sephora to at least try it out.

Cost: $26.00

Go Green With Homemade Beauty Recipes

Thursday, March 20th, 2008 at 8:43 am

I love how we are all trying to go green with our beauty, fashion and household products - but like most things that are good for us, it tends to be a bit more expensive. Unfortunately I can’t always afford a $10 bottle of “organic, all natural” facial cream, but rather the $6.99 “chemically balanced” scrub. However, I found a few Homemade Beauty Recipes that are ‘el naturale’ and much cheaper! Here’s the Sublime Sunflower Scrub recipe:

Ingredients:
1/2 cup raw sunflowers seeds, shelled
Distilled water for mixing

In a food processor or coffee grinder, process the raw seeds until you have a fine powder that resembles coarse sugar. Pour into a clean container with a tight-fitting lid. Mix 1 tablespoon of the ground sunflower seeds with a few teaspoons of water to create a smooth paste. You can do this in the palm of your hand or in a ceramic bowl. Massage the mixture into your face and neck, and rinse well with warm water followed by cool water. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel.

Yields: 4 oz, enough for eight facial treatments or one full-body treatment

Check out this Chocolate Lip Gloss Recipe that will have you licking your lips!

A spokeswoman for the beauty product company tells Life & Style magazine, “We sent them to her after she had the babies, and she loved them so much she had her press agent call and request more. “She’s got tired eyes and loves the way these soak right into her skin.”
