John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Finishing Creme
March 16th, 2008 at 9:12 am
Yesterday, I was daydreaming about lightening up my locks and shared a secret to stop highlights from turning brassy.
Elizabeth asked: Do they have something like this for Brunettes?
For dull, flat color, try John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoos, Conditions and Stylers. I’ve used these in the past and they really do seem to make dark hair richer while adding shine to the lighter shades of brown. I liked the shampoo and finishing creme.

I LOVE sheer blonde! I use it all the time! I get them for the best prices at ULTA.
March 16th, 2008 @ 5:28 pmI hear this stuff makes your hair fall out because of the small amounts of hair color in them or something? I dunno, but I do know these always smell good.
March 16th, 2008 @ 5:41 pm@jill: Say Wha-? I don’t know that is the case. These John Frieda products are said to be “non-color depositing” so I think that may be a myth or rumor you’ve heard.
March 16th, 2008 @ 8:16 pmEveryone I know who’s tried it complained of more than normal hair loss. Also, you can’t trust everything you read on product labels. Half the time you buy anything with “pro-vitamins” it usually turns out to be a variety of waxes.
March 16th, 2008 @ 10:54 pmJill what I mean to say is that supposedly there are no color additives in the products (sorry I don’t have a bottle handy, as I said this was a few years ago when I used it). Natch, you are correct — the only thing you can trust on a product label is the list of ingredients itself! I can only go by my own experience to say this made my hair shine with lovely highlights and lowlights — without making my hair fall out of course. Perhaps I’m lucky? Thanks for the warning!
March 17th, 2008 @ 6:37 pmYeah, I was just going off of my friends warning when I picked up a bottle at Rite Aid. I’m not above trying it though if it really does give hair a little pick me up.
