Jergens Natural Glow FACE

Hello Ladies it’s Thursday again and time to do another review. Colleen left a comment a week ago asking about facial self tanners and which one I recommend. The thing is I’ve never tried them because they scare the living beejesus out of me. I would rather NOT put something that’s going to tan my face because I can hide streaky legs, I can’t hide a streaky face.

But thankfully none of that happened. Although I’m sad to say I do not recommend the Jergens Natural Glow Face daily moisturizing and self tanning product. I used it every day first thing in the morning for a week and it did nothing. Wait. That’s wrong. It did make my chin look sorta of brownish and kind of dirty and ditto for the foreheard. Not attractive people. I’ll list the problems I had with it…

  1. The smell. Oh my god it was horrible. Self tanner on the legs is one thing, but on your face and it’s just nasty.
  2. Jergens tells you to use it as your daily moisturizer. Well it certainly doesn’t moisturize. I had to wait 15 minutes for it to dry and then use my normal moisturize so my skin wouldn’t feel so tight.
  3. The biggest problem is it didn’t work. No color except some brown on the chin. :(

So instead of ending this post on a negative note I’m going to recommend to Colleen and all those interested to forgo the self tanner on the face and go with a bronzer. Your best and safest bet is just to go to your local Sephora, drugstore, or department store and buy a liquid or powder bronzer that will give you that beautiful glow you want without clogging your pores and making you stink. :)

Cost: $5.99

I starting using Origins “A Perfect World on the recommendation of my uncle who looks 30 even though he’s going on 45. I figure if he likes it then I’m sure I’ll like it and guess what? I was right. I have dry skin and I was worried it wouldn’t be moisturizing enough, but not only did it make my skin radiant, but I literally saw better looking skin within the week. A Perfect World is made with White Green Tea, “Ferment of sugarcane”, Murumuru butter, Rose fruit oil, and Vitamin C which all lend itself to one of the best facial moisturizers ever. Plus, it smells divine.

This product is recommended for combination, dry, or sensitive skin.

Cost: $35.00

I was flipping through this issues Cosmopolitan magazine when I came across this helpful tip about making your lip gloss do double duty. They encouraged you to use a pearly white gloss as both your normal lip gloss and as a highlighter. One of my favorite lip glosses is by DiorKiss in “Sorbet Meringue” or “Pink Marshmallow“. You can apply it to your lips, right under your eyebrows, and a long your cheeks for some subtle definition. I tried the, “Pink Marshmallow” color and even though it’s a pink it was perfect for my fair skin adding just the right amount of sparkle.

Cost: $19.00
