Jergens Natural Glow FACE

Hello Ladies it’s Thursday again and time to do another review. Colleen left a comment a week ago asking about facial self tanners and which one I recommend. The thing is I’ve never tried them because they scare the living beejesus out of me. I would rather NOT put something that’s going to tan my face because I can hide streaky legs, I can’t hide a streaky face.

But thankfully none of that happened. Although I’m sad to say I do not recommend the Jergens Natural Glow Face daily moisturizing and self tanning product. I used it every day first thing in the morning for a week and it did nothing. Wait. That’s wrong. It did make my chin look sorta of brownish and kind of dirty and ditto for the foreheard. Not attractive people. I’ll list the problems I had with it…

  1. The smell. Oh my god it was horrible. Self tanner on the legs is one thing, but on your face and it’s just nasty.
  2. Jergens tells you to use it as your daily moisturizer. Well it certainly doesn’t moisturize. I had to wait 15 minutes for it to dry and then use my normal moisturize so my skin wouldn’t feel so tight.
  3. The biggest problem is it didn’t work. No color except some brown on the chin. :(

So instead of ending this post on a negative note I’m going to recommend to Colleen and all those interested to forgo the self tanner on the face and go with a bronzer. Your best and safest bet is just to go to your local Sephora, drugstore, or department store and buy a liquid or powder bronzer that will give you that beautiful glow you want without clogging your pores and making you stink. :)

    I use the Vaseline product like this, and it doesn’t tan much on my face but on the rest of my body it’s pretty good. It’s a decent mouisturizer too, and is cheaper than the Jergens kind. I have tried this one, and you’re right it does smell odd!

    I have tried it, it did work for me, but it took a few days to add up so to speak. It can give blackheads, or rather the appearance of them. By the end of a week, you have to exfoliate and start over. Remember to exfoliate your hairline, and your upper lip very well, and your eyebrows. These areas will really show on your next application if you don’t. I found that fake bake was ten times faster, and didn’t smell. The face one is golden, and you keep it on, or I did, and the body one goes on dark brown and you wash the next morning. The color is brown, not orange at all the next day. But ladies, don’t be lindsay orange in blotches, take a long bath, exfoliate, then apply, not before.
