Johnson’s Baby Oil Lavender To Remove Eye Make Up

I always hear about eye makeup remover, but never buy any. It just happens to be one of the things that I’m a scrooge in buying. I’m already spending money on cleansers, facial make up removers, lotions, etc. and now I have to buy eye makeup remover?! I usually end up trying to get as much off as I can and then waking up with racoon eyes the next day. I continue to scrub as much off in the shower the but there’s sometimes a small trace of eyeliner still present.

Well this year I’m trying to be better about it, and I’ve been hearing about Johnson’s Baby Oil Lavender being able to do the trick. Plus you can get a huge bottle for like $5! Dab a cotton ball in the baby oil and gently rub your eye lid until the make up is gone. Becareful not to get any in your eye as with any make up remover.

Cost: $4.08 (14 fl oz)

Purchase at drugstore.com.

L’Occitane Ultra Moisturizing Fluid SPF 20

I love L’Occitane products! They make my face feel smooth, fresh, and clean. I’ve been using these products for just about two weeks and I can already see a difference in my skin - and I have bad skin! Their Ultra Moisturizing Fluid is a combination of shea butter and mineral sun filters, not heavy or a weighted substance, and it leaves your skin silky smooth. My face has never felt softer! I know this sounds like a paid infomercial, but I feel like I’ve tried everything when it comes to moisturizers. Plus this has SPF 20 which is very important.

Cost: $30.00
Size: 1.7 oz

Purchase at L’Occitane En Provence.

“Q” Tips For Makeup

Thursday, March 6th, 2008 at 11:00 am

q-tips.jpg

If you don’t own a makeup brush for every little makeup application, or have been using the same one for ages, here’s a few beauty tricks with a household product that pretty much everyone has in their bathroom. Q-tips® are a great tool to have for applying, blending and removing make up. Here are a couple of tips (no pun intended):

For a soothing pick-me-up, moisten Q-tips® cotton swabs with water, place in a plastic bag and keep in the freezer. When needed, roll under eyes to help diminish puffiness.

Keep Q-tips® cotton swabs in a plastic bag with a small amount of makeup remover. They’re convenient and great to use for touch-ups throughout the day (runny mascara, smeared eye shadow, smudged lipstick, etc.).

Renee Rouleau AHA/BHA Cleansing Gel

Thursday, March 6th, 2008 at 11:00 am

Renee R.

With my recent adoption of adult acne, I’ve done pretty much everything I could do to attempt to get rid of my unwanted zits. As someone who grew up with perfect skin and only got a pimple maybe every few months, it’s extremely hard (and depressing!) to now, in her mid twenties, start breaking out!

Then I was very luckily introduced to Renee Rouleau’s skin care line. After reading that her AHA/BHA Cleansing Gel won a coveted Allure Best of Beauty award for “Best Cleanser for Oily/Acne Prone Skin,” I immediately had to try it. I was a little skeptical of anything that would exfoliate because most derms will tell you that scrubbing can only make acne red and more irritated but I was desperate and tried anyway.

The result? Well, I still struggle with my acne but the combination of my oral antibiotics and the AHA/BHA Cleansing Gel is perfection. The soap and sulfate-free gel uses alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) and gentle Jojoba beads to smooth the skin and fade post-breakout marks while clearing clogged pores. Personally, I find the post-breakout marks to be worse than the actual zit! The miracle gel also contains Grapefruit Oil, which as you might know, is a natural astringent that also boasts Vitamin C and great antioxidants to keep skin young.

Cost: $35.50

SkinMilk Hand Lotion with SPF 15

Thursday, March 6th, 2008 at 11:00 am

skinmilk-hand-lotion-with-spf-15.jpg

So, just so you know, I’m obsessed with any beauty product that smells like food - and that includes milk. SkinMilk Hand Lotion with SPF 15 not only moisturizes your hands but also protects them from the sun’s harmful UV rays. The creamy hand lotion not only contains SPF 15 but also boasts vitamins A, D & E and 5% real milk proteins to soothe, nourish and moisturize the delicate skin on your hands- which is SUPER important since the hands are one of the first body parts to show signs of aging! I’ve also always really adore the signature SkinMilk vanilla cream scent that is in every product in the SkinMilk line. Milk definitely does a body good…especially at this price!

Cost: $5.59
