Agatha Ruiz De La Prada Lip Balm

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

Love love looooooooove Agatha Ruiz de la Prada lip balms. These fruity flavored glosses smell so good you will literally want to lick them right off your lips!

They give you a pretty shine, but they’re not too sticky like some lip glosses. And the smell is to die for. I tried to just buy one last time I was at the store, but I ended up getting three more flavors! My favorites are the Kiwi and Passion Fruit Flavors, but they also have a delicious scented Raspberry, Cherry, Papaya and Tutti Frutti.

For only five dollars how can you resist these little glosses? Plus the tins that they come in are adorable. You know you’re fashionable when even your lip gloss tin is cute! Buy them here.

Styli-Style Waterproof Eye-line And Seal

You are not going to believe me when I tell you where I found the most amazing pencil eyeliner….Walgreen’s! I had been in search of a waterproof pencil eye-liner that wouldn’t smudge. So I googled around, found a forum for professional makeup artists, and got some opinions. Lots of them recommended this brand, Styli-Style so I decided I’d give it a try.

It’s AMAZING! Styli Style Waterproof Eye-line & Seal goes on really smooth, it’s truly waterproof and doesn’t love me with smudges, but the best thing is that it still comes off easy at night with makeup remover. The price works too, I couldn’t believe how cheap it is! At just $6.00 this great product is truly a steal. Buy it here. Or if you REALLY trust me, for $25.00 you can buy a whole pack :)

Rough, gnarly feet, be gone!

The back of my feet get very rough and dry, a total nightmare. In the past I’ve used a pumice stone, but this metal Denco Easy Grip Foot Smoother is the business. Unlike a rock hard pumice stone, its flexible yet sturdy, with a soft rubber handle. A major upgrade.

Now, y’all know I love a good deal — and not only is this under my $20 per-product goal, but its guaranteed for life. The stainless steel abrasive sheet is designed to maintain cleanliness, too.

Beauty Emergency: Safety Pins

Saturday, March 1st, 2008 at 8:30 am

safety-pins.jpg

No, I have not lost my mind.

Like a good little (gay) boy scout, I’m prepared for a (beauty) emergency. Safety pins. Yes, safety pins!

This literally just happened to me at the gym. I was into a pretty good calf routine when suddenly I noticed the zipper to my favorite (and oldest) workout pants had sprung completely open. The zipper was busted. Now you understand how safety pins fit into beauty, because walking around with your fly open is not cute.

Solution? Safety. Pins.

Now, I don’t carry around a sewing kit or anything of the sort. Like many guys, I simply have no idea how to make a decent stitch. I have some female friends that carry around mini-sewing kits and they’re very handy with them, but I’ve never known a man, even the gayest of the super-gay, to walk around with a sewing kit. Maybe I need to meet more designers, but my social circle is not the issue here.

Instead of anything that might require some level of skill, I buy Singer Safety Pins in assorted sizes and pin a couple of each size inside my gym bag. You would not believe how many times they’ve saved my life — and not only at the gym like today. The bag just happens to be a good place to keep them, since I usually have it either with me or in the car.

Hemp Hand Protector

Don’t smoke it, dude!

I could go on and on about the benefits of hemp, but instead, I’ll just give you the lowdown on this really amazing hand lotion. If you get dry, chapped hands like I do — or if you work with your hands and have to wash repeatedly throughout the day, this stuff is going to make you very happy.

Made with: Hemp seed oil, to repair and help restore moisture; Lanolin, to add moisture; Allantoin, provides minterals to revitalize skin; Panthenol, improves nail flexibility to reduce breakage; Glycerin, a humectant

I like the no-frills packaging. A very small amount goes a long way. Like all hand lotions, it can feel a little greasy at first. That’s what happens when you put lotion on your hands. I like to massage any leftover into my neck and shoulders. No frilly smell, very earthy. Good stuff!
