Make-up Brushes
I will be the first one to admit that I haven’t quite grown up when it comes to make-up or certain make-up aspects. That being paying a lot for certain things. I just can’t see myself forking over a hundred bucks on make-up brushes when spending twenty will suffice. I don’t need those crazy sable haired brushes, I mean I’m not a make-up artist or in the “field”. All I want from my brushes is to apply make-up in a decent manor and stand the test of time.
I found two different sets of brushes for those who are like me and unwillingly to fork over their hard earned money, especially when it’s not shoes. I bought E.L.F brushes when E.L.F was having a sale and honestly for a couple dollars I didn’t expect much. However when I received them and started using them I quickly realized that they’re pretty darn great and certainly reliable. I’ve had mine for about 2 years and they still work wonderfully.
Now for my second recommendation I give you the Bare Escentuals brushes. I bought the starter set at Sephora and while I don’t use the products anymore I do still enjoy the brushes. I have dry skin and even though B.E. says it’s great for dry skin, I quickly realized that it was causing my skin to become even drier and making my pores appear HUGE. So I gave away the products and kept the brushes because these brushes are fantastic. I use the concealer brush with my Revlon concealer and trust me when I say it takes using concealer to a whole new level. I do occasionally use the mineral veil to help take the shine away and when I do, I use the Kabuki brush. The other brush is perfect for blush, or even using it with a mineral foundation or powder.
Please feel free to give me any of your recommendations in the comments below and let me know which brushes you prefer for which task.
Cost: E.L.F $1.00 and Bare Escentuals $20-28.00.

I use Bare Minerals, but I don’t use the brushes from that store anymore. Before using Bare Minerals I never really used brushes for makeup before, so I couldn’t really compare the quality of Bare Minerals brushes to other ones. But I started to read other people’s review of Bare Minerals brushes, and they consistently said that the brushes were horrible and they use different ones. This peaked my interest a bit and I tried some brushes from Sephora which were so much nicer and softer! Now I use those brushes, which are around the same price from what I can remember.
Also, did you moisturize enough before using Bare Minerals? Because I know if I don’t put on moisturizer beforehand, it can make my skin look dry too.
