With all this crazy weather lately my hair has been in a ponytail day in and day out, and probably won’t be down until the sun shines. Although it’s constantly up it still needs to be taken care of. I came across this new haircare product line by John Barrett and thought I’d share. He’s well known in the glam world of celebs, socialites and the like. With celebrities like Sienna Miller, Vanessa Redgrave and Beyonce on his client list, you can’t go wrong.

John Barrett meets with clients everyday, and all of them, regardless of their age, are convinced that their hair is damaged. Because of this, John has been inspired to develop a line of products to enable his clients, and people like them, to achieve healthy hair at home. After working with a famed formulator in South Africa, a product line has been created to help fight the environmental elements that can wreak havoc on the hair.

The line is initially launching with Be Healed Styling Masque, Be-Hold Styling Balm, Be Cleansed Daily Shampoo, Be Conditioned Daily Conditioner, Be Cleansed Weekly Shampoo, and Be Cleansed Weekly/Color treated Conditioner.

Cost: Price range from $20 to $38.

The Elementage line is available at the John Barrett Salon, John Barrett online, Bergdorf Goodman, Clyde’s and C.O. Bigelow.

Are you in the market for some yummy lip gloss? Ah the days when we were young and our lips tasted like vanilla ice cream cones. :) Self Magazine asked their readers to write in about their favorite glosses and here are some of their answers:

Are you a flavor fan?

So here I go again talking about how lazy I am with my beauty regimes. BUT, I always find a way to combat my non-desire to put effort in anything. When I do get around to putting makeup on and need to take it off when I go to bed, I use Ponds Cleansing Towelettes. I take two out, put one in each hand and get to work. In less than 30 seconds I am good to go without feeling guilty about dirtying my pillowcase with cover up.

They are available everywhere! But if you are an online junkie, the link is below.

Cost: $6.25

Skin: Crabtree And Evelyn’s Hand Therapy Caddy

Many moons ago when I was a teacher, a colleague of mine gave me this lotion as a thank you for always helping her out with computer issues. In fact, I hardly did anything for her out of the ordinary. A few restarts and an occasional install at the most. But she was so kind and thoughtful that one day she surprised me with a goodie from Crabtree and Evelyn. I kept it on my desk and used it everyday. The website says it is specifically made for gardeners, but I’m not that rough on my hands and still found it to be delightful. And the caddy itself is adorable so you wouldn’t be ashamed to have it out by your kitchen sink (which is now where I keep mine).

Skin: Revlon New Complexion Makeup

It’s me, Virenda, back to complain once more about how hard it is to find coverage for my skin color. I have pretty fair skin and the problem with matching it is that most colors add so much pink and you end up looking ridiculous. The myth that your make-up doesn’t have to match your neck is a big fat lie and please no more. I’ve tried a bunch of drugstore products mostly because I never find the time to go to the department stores and sift through all their stuff. I admit, I also hate being eyeballed and harassed by eager sales ladies. And Sephora scares me. Which is a moot point because where I live it would take 40 minutes to get there.

Back to the product. Revlon New Complexion Makeup is a light-medium coverage liquid foundation that is amazing because it really evens out your skin tone and doesn’t feel thick or goopy. Plus if your fair like me you can try their 1 or “Ivory Beige” which doesn’t give me “pink face”. It doesn’t come with a built in SPF which for me isn’t a big deal because I always use a separate SPF of at least 35. FYI, I’ve been using this for about 4 months and so far I still really like it.

Cost: $11.99.
