Shave: Tweezerman HIS Deluxe Shaving Brush

A shaving brush might seem overly fancy, or like something people only used in olden times. It’s kind of old school, but that’s what makes them cool. Go retro!

Fingers do not make the best lathering tools. True story. I promise you will notice a difference the very first time you apply shaving cream with a brush. Just wash after using and let air dry.

Tweezerman also insures all of their products and repair or replace defects at no cost. They are well known in the industry as a top quality company.

“Helps soften and raise beard while gently exfoliating the skin in preparation for a close, comfortable shave.”

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush

Dream Mousse

If you want that just in from the cold, fresh, healthy, flushed cheeks look, Maybelline Dream Mousse is perfect for you! It’s a cream blush that you can just rub on and blend in with your fingers. Really, it just gives you a bit of a stain of color, but because cream blends so much better than power blush, it looks a thousand times more natural! I really love the look it gives me!

Also, you should know, the Dream Mousse blush by Maybelline was so popular that they have since come out with a Dream Mousse Bronzer, Foundation and Eyeshadow. Basically you can cover your entire face in Dream Mousse if you like it!

The blush is available on Amazon in a two pack for $14.59.

Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow

Luminous Shadow

I actually only bought this eye shadow because one day I had a gift card to Victoria’s Secret for $10. I mean, that doesn’t quite buy you a bra or undies, so I just started browsing the beauty section. I came across Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow and decided to try it…and now I’m addicted! I bought one that day, loved it so much that I went back the next day to buy it in every color!

It’s actually a loose powder eye shadow, which gives you much richer color than a pressed powder shadow. But it comes with a tiny little brush so it’s much easier to apply and control than normal pigment or loose powder eye shadows! The Luminous Shadows come in 12 different colors, but my personal favorite is the gray. I can wear as an eye shadow on my whole lid, but it’s also dark enough that I can line my eyes with it and get that smoky eye look.

Buy it from Victoria’s Secret for $7, or 3 for $15.

Some things in life are easy and one of those is choosing the right nail polish. Not just the color, but the company. Sally Hansen has been around for awhile and for good reason. They consistently make great products at affordable prices and most recently they’re offering trendy nail colors. Remember when all the celebrities were wearing black nail polish? The first ones to bring the color AND quality to the drugstore was Sally Hansen.

So besides recommending this great product I also wanted to give you the 411 on the new nail color trend. According to People Style Watch Magazine neutral nails are “hot”. Katherine Heigl was one of the first to get on the nude band wagon and we’ll be sure to see many more. I went ahead and picked out my favorite neutral shades with a few light pinks to liven it up.

Cost: $2.59-$5.99.

Make-up Brushes

I will be the first one to admit that I haven’t quite grown up when it comes to make-up or certain make-up aspects. That being paying a lot for certain things. I just can’t see myself forking over a hundred bucks on make-up brushes when spending twenty will suffice. I don’t need those crazy sable haired brushes, I mean I’m not a make-up artist or in the “field”. All I want from my brushes is to apply make-up in a decent manor and stand the test of time.

I found two different sets of brushes for those who are like me and unwillingly to fork over their hard earned money, especially when it’s not shoes. I bought E.L.F brushes when E.L.F was having a sale and honestly for a couple dollars I didn’t expect much. However when I received them and started using them I quickly realized that they’re pretty darn great and certainly reliable. I’ve had mine for about 2 years and they still work wonderfully.

Now for my second recommendation I give you the Bare Escentuals brushes. I bought the starter set at Sephora and while I don’t use the products anymore I do still enjoy the brushes. I have dry skin and even though B.E. says it’s great for dry skin, I quickly realized that it was causing my skin to become even drier and making my pores appear HUGE. So I gave away the products and kept the brushes because these brushes are fantastic. I use the concealer brush with my Revlon concealer and trust me when I say it takes using concealer to a whole new level. I do occasionally use the mineral veil to help take the shine away and when I do, I use the Kabuki brush. The other brush is perfect for blush, or even using it with a mineral foundation or powder.

Please feel free to give me any of your recommendations in the comments below and let me know which brushes you prefer for which task.

Cost: E.L.F $1.00 and Bare Escentuals $20-28.00.
